Openings of PhD students and Research Assistants at UH

I am actively seeking PhD students and research assistants in the Department of Computer Science at the University of Houston (UH) starting Spring 2025 or Fall 2025.

My research focuses on ML/AI algorithms and their domain applications. Topics include.

• ML/AI methods (trustworthy ML, reinforcement learning, LLMs, AI systems)
• AI applications (AI for computing systems, AI for science)

About me
Dr. Jianyi Yang is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science at UH with a joint appointment in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, starting Fall 2024. Prior to that, He was a visitor at Caltech and a postdoctoral research assistant at UC Riverside. He received his PhD degree from UC Riverside in 2023. His research has been published in top venues (NeurIPS, ICML, SIGMETRICS, AAAI, INFOCOM, IJCAI, etc.).
